Overview: This webinar begins with a short overview of the Antideficiency Act (ADA). The overview includes its history, major provisions, topics such as augmentation and indemnification, and the ADA’s relationship to Purpose and Time violations. We proceed to an analysis of all ADA violations reported from 2005-2019 – by agency, cause, and discipline imposed on those found responsible. We then discuss about 20 examples that are representative of the many ways agencies have violated the ADA. The session concludes with tips for preventing ADA violations. The webinar should be of interest to all financial management personnel, especially program managers, budget analysts, contracting officers, and government charge card holders and approving/billing officials.
