This week the American Society of Military Comptrollers (ASMC), the premier educational society for financial managers working in the defense community, provided their support to honor wounded military heroes and the medical community who provided care from the battlefield to the homefront at PenFed Foundation’s 7th annual Night of Heroes Gala.

The evening had several special guests including General James N. Mattis, the current commander of the United States Central Command; General (Ret) Barry McCaffrey; author and co-founder of the Bob Woodruff Family Foundation, Lee Woodruff; Scottish film and TV actor who plays Dr. Owen Hunt on “Grey’s Anatomy”, Kevin McKidd; and Oscar-winning writer and producer of “The Hurt Locker,” Mark Boal. Also attending were corporate, political and military guests, wounded patients from Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Bethesda National Naval Medical Center.

The gala serves as an opportunity to say thank you to our nation’s defenders and to help ensure that their needs, as well as those of their families, are fulfilled and never forgotten. The funds raised at this event helped to contribute over $750,000 in grants to our nation’s military heroes.   ASMC has been a sponsor of this event for the last 3 years.
