The General Services Administration (GSA) announced that daily Per Diem rates in Standard areas for lodging ($77) and meals and incidental expenses (M&IE—$46) will remain unchanged for FY2013.  The Standard area rate covers most of the 2,600 continental United States (CONUS) counties.

The GSA Per Diem Bulletin FTR 13-01, signed by Kathleen M. Turco, GSA's Associate Administrator of the Office of Governmentwide Policy, also announced that lodging rates for the almost 400 Non-Standard areas would remain unchanged and the MIE rate would continue to range between $47-$71.  All rates are effective on October 1, 2012.

GSA added 10 new Non-Standard Areas: Bakersfield/Ridgecrest, CA; Stockton, CA; Hancock and Pearl River counties, MS; Sidney/Glendive, MT; Dickenson/Beulah, ND; Minot, ND; Williston, ND; Carlsbad, NM; Watertown, NY; and Pasco, WA.  The announcement shows the new rates for these areas.

GSA sets per diem rates for locations in CONUS.  These rates are the maximum amounts a federal employee can receive as reimbursement for allowable expenses while on official duty travel.
