The General Services Administration (GSA) announced per diem rates changes for seven domestic locations, effective April 1, 2010.  The changes resulted from mid-year GSA reviews of per diem rates for these areas, which are set to expire on March 31, 2010.

Per diem rates for three areas will change on April 1, with additional changes by September 1.  For San Francisco, California, the lodging rate will increase from $142 per day to $150 on April 1 and to $180 on September 1.  The lodging rates for New York City will go from $192 per day to $212 on April 1, to $224 on June 1, and then to $295 on September 1.  For the Harrisburg/Hershey, Pennsylvania area the daily lodging rate will increase from $106 to $107 on March 31 and to $134 on August 31.  On September 1, the rate will go back to $107 per day.

The daily lodging rates for another two areas are set to change only once.  The daily lodging rate for San Bernardino County (including Barstow), California will increase from $83 to $99 on April 1.  For Hunt County (Greenville), Texas, the lodging rate will go from will go from $78 to $86 on April 1.

For Lafayette County (Oxford), Mississippi, both the daily lodging rate and the meals and incidental expenses (MIE) rate will change.  On April 1 the lodging rate will go from $77 per day to $96 and the daily rate for meals and incidental expenses (MIE) will increase from $46 to $51 on April 1.

Beginning on April 1, the per diem rate for Caroline County (Bowling Green) will become part of the per diem rate for Fredericksburg, Virginia.  As a result, the daily lodging rate in increase from $77 to $89 and the MIE rate will rise from $51 to $56 per day.
