Overview: Effective communication is vital for business and life, for the professional and personal interactions we have every day.  It is about more than simply conveying content and information, but it includes the transfer of context, emotion, and intent from one person to another.  This transfer is essential for the message to be adequately heard, interpreted, and understood.  Without content, emotion, and intent, the words are subject to misunderstanding, which leads to frustration, unintended results, and ultimately relational conflict at work and home.

The Keys to Communication webinar will cover barriers to effective communication and critical areas for communication skills improvement.  The webinar will address different modes of communication, including speaking and writing.  The discussion will start with the Intent-Impact Gap to visualize major communication impediments, then provide specific steps that can be taken to reduce the gap.  The measures include strategies for preparation, increased knowledge, and behavioral changes that will result in enhanced exchange of information, more effective team collaboration and decision making, and better outcomes.  Knowledge is power.  “When you know better, you do better.” (Maya Angelou)

Join ASMC on Tuesday, August 30, 2022, at noon (Eastern Time) for this 1-hr webinar.  Use it as a starting point for personal growth and development in communication.  Bring your team along for the discussion, and work together to reduce the Intent-Impact Gap and promote effective communication.
