The National President’s Award is the highest award bestowed by the American Society of Military Comptrollers, established to recognize individuals for exceptionally distinguished service in the field of defense financial management and to ASMC. This year’s award recognizes the service and dedication of two individuals, both of whom epitomize the core values of ASMC and have advocated for professional development through ASMC as a career long pursuit. They both reflect the highest level of integrity, professional ethics and dedication/devotion to continuous learning and professional development.
Audrey Davis
Ms. Audrey Davis is a long-standing supporter of ASMC, having served at the chapter and national levels, including serving twice as the President of the National Executive Committee from 2003–2004 and from 2021-2023. Her leadership through the turbulent COVID years and guidance in support of the strategic direction of ASMC was invaluable. Ms. Davis is a member the Senior Executive Service and is the Director of the Defense Finance and Accounting Service (DFAS), a position she has held since 2020. Leading the day-to-day accounting and finance activities of the Department of Defense, Ms. Davis oversees 11,000 civilian and military personnel at ten locations throughout the United States, Europe, and the Pacific. Ms. Davis formerly served as the Principal Deputy Director for DFAS starting in January 2012. She also previously held positions with the Air Force to include her role as the Deputy Director, Air Force Staff.
Debra Del Mar
Ms. Debra Del Mar has made significant contributions to ASMC as a chair of the Corporate Advisory Group, member of the National Executive Committee, leader in the Washington Chapter, and, most recently, as chair of the 75th Anniversary Commission. Ms. Del Mar is a Senior Financial Management Systems Advisor to the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense Comptroller/CFO. With over 35 years of corporate and government experience, Ms. Del Mar is a leader in government financial modernization and agile information technology applications. Her comprehensive knowledge and experience in management consulting, systems consolidation/modernization, and business transformation distinguish her as a defense financial management thought leader in financial improvement.
