PDI 2017

We will conduct our ASMC National PDI 2017 from 31 May – 2 June in San Diego. We opened overall registration for the PDI on 21 February and we opened registration for specific sessions today. Our Pre-PDI sessions will take place 29 – 30 May. The theme for this years PDI is “Catching the Wave … Audit Ready” and we hope you are able to catch the wave, and join us.

This year, Michael Durant, the pilot of Blackhawk Super 64 that was downed during the Battle of Mogadishu in Somalia, will be one of our General Session speakers. He will speak about mission, leadership, and unity in dealing with challenging situations. Also joining us as a general session speaker is Rear Admiral (Retired) Ken Slaght, President of the San Diego Cyber Center of Excellence. Keep up with programming updates and check back to as we plan on publishing more in the next few weeks. #PDI2017

CERTIFICATION OPPORTUNITIES AT PDI

Note: Pre-conference courses can be attended without full conference registration
All of the CDFM pre-PDI courses offered on Monday and Tuesday are aligned to the DoD FM Certification Program competencies and associated proficiency levels. By completing these courses you will gain additional knowledge, earn CPE credits, and fulfill hours toward your DoD FM Certification requirements. All courses begin at 0800 hours and end at 1700 hours.

Pre-Conference CDFM Training Mini-Courses
Intense coverage of Modules 1, 2, and 3 of the Enhanced Defense Financial Management Training Course (EDFMTC) will be held on Monday and Tuesday, May 29 & 30. Each 1-day mini-course will be taught by a highly qualified instructor with extensive experience teaching the 5-day EDFMTC. These sessions are intended for those who: (1) are enrolled in the CDFM Program, (2) have completed a significant amount of exam preparation, and (3) wish to “top off” their knowledge prior to taking the exam at the PDI. On Monday you’ll choose between Module 1 and Module 2 and on Tuesday between Module 2 and Module 3. One or two modules may be chosen. You will be in control when it comes to deciding which modules to attend. Separate registration for these pre-conference events is required and will cost an additional fee of $250 per module. You must have a copy of version 2013a of the textbook to participate. Textbooks can be purchased beforehand and brought to the PDI (recommended), or can be purchased at the PDI.

Pre-Conference CDFM-A Training Course
The Module 4 Acquisition Business Management 2-day course will be offered on Monday and Tuesday, May 29 & 30. The course covers major weapons systems acquisition from the Program Manager’s perspective and is taught by a highly experienced instructor. This two-day event is intended for individuals interested in learning more about the Acquisition Process, who are enrolled in the CDFM Program (whether they already hold the certification or not) and have elected to pursue the designation CDFM-A (CDFM with Acquisition Specialty). Separate registration for this pre-conference event is required and will cost $475.

CDFM Testing at PDI 2017!
ASMC will hold paper and pencil CDFM exam testing sessions onsite at PDI 2017 Tuesday through Friday, May 30 – June 2, 2017. Any of the 4 CDFM module exams can be taken and exams can be taken in any order.

Note: All individuals wishing to sit for an exam ($99 each) must be actively enrolled in the CDFM Program. Anyone who is eligible may purchase and take an exam, even if they do not participate in any other aspects of the pre-PDI and PDI sessions.

Login into your PDI registration to purchase the CDFM exams, view the full testing schedule, and register to test at the PDI.

UPDATE YOUR DOD EMAIL ADDRESS TO YOUR PERSONAL EMAIL ADDRESS IN YOUR ASMC MEMBER PROFILE.

Given certain situations regarding cyber security protocols, emails from ASMC HQ or your local chapter may not always make it through servers and reach your work inbox, so we ask you to update your email address in your member profile to reflect your personal rather than your work email address to help ensure you receive ASMC communications. Update your email address by logging onto your ASMC Member Profile. We also ask chapter presidents and membership chairs to emphasize this during chapter meetings or professional development sessions.
