The PDI program objective is to enhance resource/financial management knowledge and skills, as well as share best practices toward meeting the complex challenges of today’s fiscal environment. Defense financial managers in the public and private sectors converge annually for this three-day event to focus on education and training, with more than 20 hours of educational sessions and speakers, and the ability to earn up to 50+ Continuing Professional Education (CPE) units. These sessions meet the National Association of State Boards of Accounting standards.
The mission of ASMC is the continuing professional development of its members, of those within the Defense financial management community, and those who serve it. In addition to ASMC’s organization-wide PDI held every year, local chapters and regions also host annual training days. Regional PDI’s offer additional education and training opportunities within each geographical region, as well as leadership opportunities to chapter members. They also function as outreach to potential new members and local leadership.
Information and selected content from past PDI’s are available in ASMC’s archive of Past PDI’s.
Every year, ASMC records workshops and mini-courses from the annual National Professional Development Institute (PDI). Soon after the close of each PDI, these valuable recordings from the live/online event are processed and made available as individual learning content for members and non-members alike. Were you unable to attend the last PDI event, or do you need to earn additional CPEs? As always, Virtual PDI combines audio and slides from live sessions, allowing individual members and non-members alike to earn over 50+ CPEs online on their own schedule.
